Honey was given to me by my friend after she wasn't able to look after her anymore, i've looked after her for just over a year and we think she was 3/4 years old.
I feel in love with honey as soon as i saw her she was a cute little thing what made her even more special was that one of her back legs stuck out at a funny angle...she didnt let this get in her way... she could run when you tried to pick her up to put her in her hutch!
my dog poppy used to go and watch honey while she was in her run, this didnt bother honey she used to go right up to her and stare back!
Honey passed away quietly today, i didnt even have a chance to get her to the vets.
RIP Honey, myself, ry, flopsy & poppy will all miss you xx
Thank you to melanie for this lovely poem
The trees were blowing in the gentle breeze
The sun was shining thru the leaves on the trees,
The meadows are green and the grass grows tall
Off in the distance you can see a waterfall.
Over the falls; down through the creek
The water flows gently as a rabbit sneaks a peek,
Far up above in the deep blue sky
The birds soar high as they fly by.
The animals play
At the bridge by the waterfall chasing each other
and just having a ball
They play all day from morning to night
There's no more rain; just warm sunlight.
Off in the distance, the trumpets would blow
All would look up and notice a bright glow,
The harps would play and the angels would sing
As another pet has come home, who had earned their wings.

"It is not just that animals make the world more scenic or picturesque.
The lives of animals are woven into our very being - closer than our own breathing - and our soul will suffer when they are gone."

Our Angels Have Left Us
For those of you we love so much,
We surely miss your loving touch.
Although our hearts tell us our angels are near,
We continue to shed so many tears.
Each of you own a piece of our heart,
That is why it is so difficult to part.
We know all of you are in a wonderful land,
And we promise to join you as soon as we can.
As all of our angels now run with the wind and are carefree,
We know that your short time with us was meant to be.

♥Close to You♥
I am not that far away;
I'm the song that summer sings;
The fragrance of the flowers;
The joy that sunshine brings.
I am in the air you breathe;
In the wind that's softly blowing;
I'm in the mountain streams
Where the water's gently flowing.
I speak to you of love,
In the songs we called our own;
Hear me as I whisper,
"There's no need to feel alone."
Way beyond the moon and stars,
My spirit's flying free:
I'm often close beside you
And in everything you see.
Wipe away your grieving tears,
Ere you go to sleep tonight;
For we'll meet again one day
In a world of love and light.

On the Wings of Sorrow
On the wings of sorrow
Hope comes from Heaven above,
For your loved one is safely home,
Wrapped in the arms of love.
Your days may be long and lonely,
But faith will see you through;
Walk bravely on the path ahead,
Our Father will care for you.
Let tears of grief bring release,
Easing your sorrow and pain;
Hold memories close to your heart
'Til you meet your loved one again.

ღ♥ღ Healing Angels ღ♥ღ
In the still hours of the night
Angels descend from above;
They come to ease the suffering
Of those crying out for love.
They know where a heart is aching,
A body that's wracked with pain;
A soul reaching out to Heaven,
To be with a loved one again.
They tend to the sick and dying,
Give comfort to those who grieve,
Blessed with strong healing powers
They touch each soul as they leave.
Warm hearts filled with compassion
They shine with radiant light.
These are God's special angels,
Who visit us mortals at night.
So when you are tired and weary
Of the weight of the cross that you bear
In the darkness an angel will call
Bringing you comfort and care.

♥ My Gentle Soul ♥
by Sue Scheck
The time has come to close your eyes,
My sweet-faced little friend;
As angels gently lift you up,
Your journeys at its end.
You made us laugh,
You made us cry, as sickness took its toll,
Now it's time to rest in peace;
Good-night, my gentle soul.

Angel Of Christmas Cheer
I hear a flutter in the breeze
There is snow upon the ground
All the leaves have fallen
Not a single one to be found.
So it makes me ponder
On this lovely winter day
Could it be an angel?
In the snow at play?
I go ahead and build my snowman
I work with cheerful hands
Carrot nose and button eyes
To make him look so grand.
I think I hear a little giggle
A flutter in the breeze
I look up to see, who might be here
But it's, just my snowman and me.
With all this Yule time cheer
On my face I have a smile
Soon we will be singing songs
As we gather around the fire.
It's nearly time to go in
I'll soon be snug in bed
As I dream of sugar plums
Dancing in my head.
Now it's Christmas Morning
We gather around the tree
I look out the frost window
My eyes just can't believe!
A beautiful smile on my snowman
My hands could have never achieved
I walked the same snow prints
That I had made that very night.
Only one going to it, one coming back
As I look at the snowy base
I see a folded note;
Looking so mystified
With wonder on my face,
As I read the words
This is what it said,
"I enjoyed the wonderful evening
Seeing the joy your heart does hold,
But, there is more to this message
To you, that must be told.
Always remember...
The reason for this season
The night that Christ was born
All those that gathered
In the manger long ago.
Always remember His love and giving ways
Then you can have Christmas, every single day
And if you don't mind...
I would love to come next year
At the bottom was signed,
"Your Angel of Christmas Cheer"

*** Take Time to Heal Now *** (by Teresa Wagner) ***
~~♥~~♥~~♥~~♥~~♥~~♥~~♥~~♥~~♥~~♥~~♥~~♥
Dying is the easier role
Returning Home to God, the angels
The spirit world of peace and love.
Our animal loved ones are there now
safe, whole, loved and ever loving.
It is in staying behind
on earth feeling alone
without the animals we love so dearly
that is the harder role.
The anguish of it comes unbidden,
when least expected,
seemingly unending, inescapable,
dark hours of pain.
Yet relief from pain
and healing and growth are possible too
Nourishment and support
are all around
in people, the animals, the sun, the rivers
in forests, in flowers, in books, in tapes,
in pictures, in song, from angels, from God
and the strength and wisdom
of our own souls.
We must only open our hearts
to the love waiting to help us heal.
Pouring our love and care and nurturing
onto our animals must shift now,
to loving and caring
and nurturing ourselves.
It is time for us now.
As one who has loved
so completely
so fully
You are just as important as the one who has died.
You do not dishonor your loved one
or their memory
by taking care of yourself.
Take time to heal now.
Make choices to grow now.
Love yourself as you love your animal.
Love yourself as your animal loves you.

A NEW STAR
(Author Unknown)
I see a brighter star tonight
As I look at the sky;
It glistens in a teardrop
As it drifts upon a sigh.
A little light all filled with soul,
A speck so like the rest;
But to me it's brighter than the moon,
Above all, it's the best.
A part of earth for just awhile.
The heavens are its home;
Here it was confined as life,
There it's free to roam.
A little gem to crown the sky,
A jewel for all to see;
Its sparkle is for all mankind,
Its memory, just for me.
